Software Test Engineer

Salary: £38,000 - 43,000 per year

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in software testing
• Strong understanding of quality in modern development practices
• Comfortable working across web browsers, APIs, and database-backed systems
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman
• Proficiency with browser developer tools
• Experience with common productivity tools such as Microsoft Office
• Good understanding of database concepts
• Ability to investigate issues using integrated browser development tools

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain functional and non-functional tests
• Perform regression testing to ensure stability of existing functionality
• Collaborate with testers and developers, reviewing testing activities
• Contribute to shared quality practices within the team
• Create and maintain front-end and API automation scripts using Playwright (TypeScript)
• Maintain JavaScript-based API tests in a shared Postman environment
• Keep testing documentation up to date
• Ensure testing activities follow established team and project processes
• Participate in Agile delivery sessions, including refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing approaches, tools, and workflows
