Job Description

Salary: £90,000 - 120,000 per year

Requirements

  • We require 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in presales, network engineering, or technical support.
  • We require demonstrable success supporting UK Government or public sector clients.
  • We require current SC clearance.
  • We need the ability to translate technical challenges into clear commercial value.
  • We expect confidence at C-suite level and the ability to hold customer meetings onsite.
  • We require strong knowledge of Cisco routing, switching, gateways, and applications.
  • We require experience with TCP/IP, SNMP, Netflow, and VoIP.
  • We require experience with LAN/WAN topologies, including MPLS, Frame Relay, and ATM.
  • We require knowledge of security concepts and network infrastructure design.
  • We require understanding of network performance and fault/alert management.
  • We require experience with operating systems including Linux and Windows.
  • We require familiarity with cloud and virtualisation technologies, including SDN/NFV and public/private cloud.
  • We require exposure to performance tools such as HP/OV, Tivoli, EMC SMARTS, and ArcSight.
  • We require relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
  • We require formal presales training such as Sandler, Siebel, or Afterburner.
  • We require exposure to packet analysis and troubleshooting.
  • We require the ability to travel 60-70% across the UK.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical military training is desirable.
  • An MBA or relevant business/leadership qualification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of products such as Arbor, Radwhere, Riverbed, A10, or ExtraHop is desirable.
  • Experience authoring whitepapers and contributing to product strategy is desirable.
  • Familiarity with security audits and RFP/RFI responses is desirable.
  • Exposure to security analytics tools and techniques, including log analysis, anomaly detection, or traffic monitoring, is desirable.
  • Awareness of full packet capture and analysis concepts, or hands-on experience with tools like Wireshark or Zeek, is desirable.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices such as NIST and ISO 27001 is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • We lead technical discovery and support the full sales cycle.
  • We differentiate our solutions from competitors using compelling value stories.
  • We act as a technical expert across integrators, service providers, and Government stakeholders.
  • We partner with product and engineering teams to influence roadmaps and share market feedback.
  • We contribute to technical documentation, RFPs, and whitepapers.
  • We build strong customer relationships and identify upsell opportunities.
  • We represent customer needs internally and advocate for technical alignment.
  • We participate in industry events, speaking engagements, and strategic initiatives.
  • We help customers use the product to find and troubleshoot problems during proof-of-concept activities.
  • We support the growth of UK public sector accounts through client-facing presales engagement.
