Senior ICT Network Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements

• We require a degree or other significant ICT-related qualification, such as Cisco CCNA or equivalent, or equivalent networking skills and abilities.
• We require experience of network architecture, installation, and management of on-premise network infrastructure.
• We require experience installing and managing on-premise Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches and router infrastructure.
• We require experience with network security hardware and software, including firewalls and network intrusion detection systems.
• We require strong network analysis skills and 2nd to 3rd line troubleshooting experience.
• We require ICT experience commensurate with managing a team of Network Engineers.
• We require proven experience managing day-to-day network operations in line with IT Service Management functions and roles.
• We require experience with network capacity planning across LAN, WLAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, MPLS, SD-Access, and data centre network technologies.
• We require experience leading technological change at an infrastructure level.
• We require proven experience managing network operations in enterprise-scale architecture and environments.
• We require practical experience with routing and switching platforms, ideally Cisco.
• We require practical experience with major routing protocols, VLANs, VRFs, multi-context Cisco firewalls, and load balancing technologies.
• We require experience of high availability services.
• We require willingness to participate in an on-call rota when needed.

• We develop, implement, and maintain critical network infrastructure that provides a 24/7 technical service across all areas.
• We ensure a secure, resilient, and high-performing technical environment that supports emergency operations around the clock.
• We develop and support a robust, efficient, effective, and secure converged network infrastructure.
• We create standardised methodologies and frameworks for technical delivery.
• We support day-to-day operations and project-led activity.
• We manage and lead network operations and infrastructure activities as part of the role.
• We respond to on-call duties when required.
