Senior Developer

Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a highly capable Senior Developer with 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• We require significant exposure to OutSystems and low-code platforms, with experience using OutSystems 11 and an interest in ODC.
• We need strong understanding of system and application architecture design principles.
• We require experience with RESTful APIs, SFTP protocols, and other modern integration methods.
• We need strong Microsoft SQL Server skills, including the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• We require experience with infrastructure and deployment processes, including versioning, environments, and change control.
• We value proven experience developing secure, scalable, and performance-optimized components.
• We require familiarity with Agile methodologies, user story estimation, and iterative delivery practices.
• We need the ability to lead code reviews, explain architectural decisions, and defend technical implementations.
• We require strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with Technical Leads and Project Managers.
• Desirable experience includes CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Desirable experience includes Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, or other Microsoft business tools.
• Desirable experience includes data migration, refactoring legacy applications, and system modernization.
• Desirable familiarity includes monitoring and logging tools and system performance tuning.
• Desirable capability includes multi-sprint problem solving and forward-thinking system design.

Responsibilities

• We design, develop, and maintain robust applications using OutSystems.
• We build advanced Client & Server Actions, Screens, and Aggregates.
• We write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Microsoft SQL Server.
• We create secure, reusable, and performance-optimized components.
• We independently deliver medium to high complexity features and epics with minimal oversight.
• We build and manage system integrations using REST APIs, SFTP, and Integration Studio.
• We participate in and lead peer code reviews, providing technical feedback and mentorship to junior and intermediate developers.
• We contribute to architecture and infrastructure improvements aligned with roadmap and enterprise standards.
• We deploy solutions within our infrastructure following DevOps and change management procedures.
• We troubleshoot and resolve live production issues and lead root cause analysis for long-term solutions.
• We collaborate closely with Project Managers and Tech Leadership.

We have two core products: one platform supporting recruitment for several large UK employers, and another delivering employee and volunteer screening services, including right to work checks and DBS checks.
