Senior SAP HR/Payroll ABAP Developer

Salary: £42,000 - 72,500 per year

Requirements

• We require at least 5 years of SAP HR/HCM Payroll development experience.
• We require strong ABAP development skills within SAP HR/Payroll.
• We require experience supporting European payrolls, ideally across multiple countries such as the UK, Spain, Germany, France, or Italy.
• We require a good understanding of payroll legislation, tax, and compliance requirements.
• We require experience working in support, enhancement, or managed services environments.
• We require the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical and functional payroll issues.
• We consider SAP HANA experience desirable.
• We consider Spanish language skills desirable.
• We consider experience supporting multiple concurrent client environments desirable.
• We consider exposure to Agile development methodologies desirable.

Responsibilities

• We design, develop, and maintain SAP HR/HCM Payroll solutions within SAP ECC environments.
• We deliver payroll, tax, and statutory compliance updates for multiple European countries.
• We analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve complex payroll-related technical issues.
• We support debugging and root-cause analysis across integrated SAP business processes.
• We conduct unit, regression, and functional testing of development changes.
• We collaborate with Business Analysts and payroll subject matter experts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• We participate in Agile/Scrum-based development activities.
• We produce and maintain technical documentation.

This is a contract, outside IR35 opportunity focused on on-demand payroll support and enhancements across SAP HCM Payroll environments for multiple European countries. We offer a flexible, ticket-driven workload with remote working, and the role is well suited to consultants who enjoy troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working across multiple client environments.
