Software Engineering Manager - AI Engineering

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a proven senior engineering leader with experience managing multiple squads and around 20 engineers across delivery and operations.
• We need a strong technical foundation, ideally full-stack, with exposure to AWS, C# .NET, TypeScript, Node, and React.
• We require deep expertise in modern SDLC practices, agentic AI-driven development, testing, automation, and CI/CD; GitHub Actions experience is ideal.
• We value a strong understanding of secure software development, data governance, and vulnerability management.
• We are seeking confident stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leaders and strategic customers.
• We want calm, clear communication under pressure.
• We are hiring for a 12-month fixed term contract based in London with 90% remote working.
• We offer a salary of £105k to £110k plus bonus.

Responsibilities

• We lead and line-manage an engineering group of approximately 10 to 20 contract engineers, creating clarity, accountability, and momentum.
• We set the tone for a high-performance, inclusive culture where teams are aligned, supported, and shipping consistently.
• We partner with Product to ensure squads are balanced, aligned to business goals, and delivering value each cycle.
• We champion modern engineering practices across the SDLC, CI/CD, and QA with an automation-first, test-first mindset.
• We collaborate with Architecture, Security, DevOps, and QA to deliver secure, well-architected services on a shared platform.
• We act as the principal point of escalation for contract resource and remove blockers quickly.
• We support people operations including hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, reviews, leave, and contract-specific considerations.
• We drive agentic AI development practices across teams.
• We ensure contractors have the right tools, processes, and guardrails to deliver consistently and efficiently.
• We report progress, risks, and issues to Senior Leadership with clarity and confidence.
• We champion secure-by-design principles, data governance, and timely CVE remediation in partnership with the CISO team.
• We support GTM with technical insight to strengthen product marketing, sales enablement, and customer outcomes.
