Senior Backend Developer

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend development with Node.js and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of AWS services (ECS, CDK, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB)
• Proven ability to develop scalable APIs and backend services
• Familiarity with REST APIs, HTTP, and JSON services
• Experience with SQL databases (Postgres / T-SQL / Presto)
• Proficient in automated testing frameworks (Jest)
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions or similar)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Experience mentoring junior developers and advocating for best practices

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship high-quality backend features end-to-end
• Take ownership of services from concept through production and optimization
• Develop scalable APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Tech Leads on roadmap and delivery
• Improve deployment, testing, and engineering standards across the team
• Mentor other team members and champion best practices and clean code
