AWS Specialist

Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong expertise in AWS Backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience.
• Deep hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, and DynamoDB.
• Experience working within multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organisations and Control Tower.
• Solid understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and security best practices.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead architecture discussions within enterprise environments.
• Previous experience in consultancy, technical leadership, or principal-level cloud roles.
• Desirable certifications include AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Security Specialty, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, CISSP, or CISM.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead AWS backup and disaster recovery strategies across enterprise environments.
• Design centralised backup architectures with cross-account and cross-region governance.
• Drive the adoption of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
• Align cloud solutions with NIST Cybersecurity Framework principles and resilience standards.
• Act as a Design Authority for complex cloud initiatives.
• Engage with senior technical and business stakeholders, providing consultancy throughout discovery, design, build, and optimisation phases.
• Support the development of scalable, secure, and highly resilient AWS platforms.

We are a leading global technology services organisation supporting a major cloud transformation programme for a large-scale enterprise operating a highly regulated, business-critical AWS environment. This is a strategic consulting role focused on AWS backup architecture, cyber resilience, disaster recovery, and Terraform-led Infrastructure as Code. The role is hybrid, with Leeds preferred, though remote candidates are considered for the right person. It is an initial 23-month contract with strong potential for extension, offered at £550£650 per day inside IR35. We offer the opportunity to lead cloud resilience strategy, influence architecture decisions across a large-scale AWS estate, and work closely with senior stakeholders and recognised cloud experts on high-impact transformation initiatives.
