SAP ABAP Developer (E-Invoicing)

Salary: £42,000 - 72,500 per year

Requirements

• We have at least 5 years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• We have strong hands-on experience with classical and OO ABAP, ALV reporting, user exits, BAdIs, enhancements, SmartForms, SAPscript, Adobe Forms, and performance tuning/optimisation.
• We have experience developing and supporting IDocs, RFCs/BAPIs, OData services, REST/SOAP APIs, and web services.
• We have experience working in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
• We have strong troubleshooting and production support capabilities.
• We have hands-on experience supporting Polands National e-Invoicing System (KSeF), including integration development, XML generation and validation, submission and response handling, error management and monitoring, and compliance with Polish eInvoicing regulations.
• We have experience with SAP integration with KSeF services.
• Preferred: We have SAP S/4HANA development experience, CDS Views, AMDP, and new ABAP syntax.
• Preferred: We have a functional understanding of SAP FI, SD, and MM processes.
• Preferred: We have SAP Fiori/UI5 development experience.
• Preferred: We have experience supporting global eInvoicing or digital tax compliance initiatives.
• Preferred: We have knowledge of SAP Integration Suite or middleware platforms.

Responsibilities

• We design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEF).
• We develop and support integrations using IDocs, RFCs, OData services, APIs, and web services.
• We translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• We troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
• We support SAP enhancement and compliance initiatives, including country-specific regulatory requirements.
• We perform technical analysis, impact assessments, and root cause investigations.
• We prepare and maintain technical specifications, design documentation, and support materials.
• We collaborate with SAP functional teams and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.

We are seeking an experienced freelance/contract SAP ABAP Developer for a remote, Europe-based on-demand contractor engagement. This is a flexible, as-needed role with 0–20 hours per week, assigned based on project demand, and there is potential for a long-term opportunity for the right consultant. A key focus of the role is supporting Poland eInvoicing (KSeF) requirements, with an emphasis on integration development, XML processing, compliance validation, and submission management.
