Job Description

Our client, a cutting-edge digital media studio, is seeking a talented and innovative Virtual Reality Content Developer to join their globally distributed, remote-first team.

In this role, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing immersive VR experiences that push the boundaries of interactive storytelling and entertainment.

Responsibilities: Collaborate with creative directors, designers, and project managers to translate concepts into engaging VR content. Develop interactive VR applications and experiences using game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.

Program and script VR interactions, user interfaces, and game logic. Optimize VR content for performance, ensuring smooth frame rates and a comfortable user experience across various VR hardware platforms.

Integrate 3D assets, animations, audio, and visual effects into VR environments. Conduct rigorous testing and debugging of VR applications to identify and resolve issues.

Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in VR development and immersive technologies. Work closely with artists and modelers to ensure assets are optimized for VR performance. Contribute to the technical design and architecture of VR projects.

Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for new VR projects. Document technical specifications and development processes. Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively within a remote collaboration setting.

Qualifications: Proven experience in VR development, with a portfolio showcasing successful VR projects. Proficiency in C# (for Unity) or C++ (for Unreal Engine). Strong understanding of 3D graphics principles and real-time rendering pipelines.

Experience with VR SDKs (e.g., Oculus SDK, SteamVR SDK). Familiarity with 3D modeling and animation software (e.g., Blender, Maya). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly. Passion for immersive technologies and creating compelling virtual experiences. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
