Web Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• We require in-depth knowledge of React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and the DOM.
• We require demonstrated experience delivering web applications.
• We require comfort working with REST APIs using asynchronous patterns.
• We require experience with Git, including branching and merging workflows.
• We require experience optimising code for performance and quality.
• We require experience working in a Test Driven Development-like environment.
• We require working knowledge of Apollo client and server, React Hooks, SASS/SCSS, and Webpack.
• We require good knowledge of Node.js and production-level GraphQL.
• We require a design-minded attention to user interface implementation.
• We require experience with message-driven architectures, Kafka, or event sourcing.
• We require experience using Jest, Cypress, and Pact for testing.
• We require the ability to work on a 6-month contract in a hybrid setup based in London.
• We require candidates to be eligible to work via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.

Responsibilities

• We represent the product team in scheduling releases to customers and preparing release notes.
• We work with the QA team to agree testing scenarios for new feature releases and support testing.
• We extract and analyse data to understand feature performance and support product backlog prioritisation.
• We support key third-party relationships to enhance overall value.
• We support incident coordination and triage customer issues, ensuring actions are clearly articulated and prioritised appropriately.
• We review, validate, and create clear and concise product documentation.
• We support product governance and wider risk assessment processes.
• We coordinate and complete regulatory conformance testing.
• We support and shadow Product Owners and Product Managers, including participation in customer research and product discovery.
• We contribute as a Web Engineer within agile feature teams.
